LECOM Medical Center
Established as the nation’s 16th college of osteopathic medicine in 1992, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) has grown to become the nation’s largest medical school, graduating more than 500 medical students and 260 pharmacy students each year.
In 2009, the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and Millcreek Community Hospital began plans for the construction of an 82,000 sq. ft. facility offering combination health care services and fitness programs. Initially, signs were not well integrated into the LECOM Medical Fitness and Wellness Center’s building plans, in turn posing wayfinding challenges for visitors of the Wellness Center as well as the adjoining Millcreek Community Hospital campus.
Howard Industries’ PRIME Sign Program’s team of signage planning and design experts surveyed and evaluated the adjoining facilities and constructed a comprehensive identification and wayfinding signage program to guide visitors and patients successfully throughout the two campuses. Howard Industries’ PRIME Sign Program is currently assisting LECOM with the signage planning of their Senior Living Facility expected to open early spring of 2015.
